Mad Men

I have finally been bitten by the Mad Men bug, only three seasons late. While I have officially become obsessed, I still dont know exactly how I feel about it. I have issues watching uncomfortable situations, it just makes me cringe and feel so uneasy. Dont get me wrong, the fashion, the decor and the way we can peer in on these peoples lives all encapsulated in this 1960s facade is absolutely riveting. But for me, Mad Men is essentially an hour of cringe worthy interatctions between husband and wife, parent and child, boss and employee. What catches my attention the most is the way family is portrayed on the show. The men calling the shots and making the rules, the women sitting at home watching the clock tick until the day was over.

Being a wife and stay at home mom, watching MM causes much self reflection. I am so thankful and eternally grateful for the relationship I share with Jimmy. We are truly partners in this house, parenting Sophie, in our relationship. It sounds a little ridiculous but watching this show has reminded me of how grateful I am.
